		<description><![CDATA[<p>The first Adare Community Council, comprising 16 members, was elected in  Summer 2008. As the elected representatives and acting in a voluntary  capacity, the members’ brief is to represent everybody in the parish,  for the betterment of the community. This includes representing the  views of local people in matters of planning and development, liaising  with the many organisations that exist in Adare, in dealing with areas  of common interest and concern. These areas refer particularly to issues  of safety and access, the development of community amenities and the  provision of services to the community.</p>

These houses are rented to elderly local people  who are capable of independent living but wish to live in the secure  environment of the village. The association meets when required and holds  an AGM annually, early in the New Year. New members are very welcome.   Chairperson: Mr. Michael Brennan.</p>

In all those years, thanks to the generosity of  the people of Adare, it has been able to support many community  services. These include providing a monthly chiropody service for the  elderly, installing monitored phone alarm systems and security locking,  making hospital and nursing home visits, supplying winter fuel and  meeting other needs, organising summer and winter functions for Senior  Citizens, holding an annual Ecumenical Carol Service, as well as helping  financially  in many international disasters.  Chairperson:  Mrs Rose  Brennan.</p>
