The first Adare Community Council, comprising 16 members, was elected in Summer 2008. As the elected representatives and acting in a voluntary capacity, the members’ brief is to represent everybody in the parish, for the betterment of the community. This includes representing the views of local people in matters of planning and development, liaising with the many organisations that exist in Adare, in dealing with areas of common interest and concern. These areas refer particularly to issues of safety and access, the development of community amenities and the provision of services to the community.
