Safeguarding Children Policy

The Parish of Adare values and encourages the participation of children, young people and adults in parish activities and liturgies that enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional and social development. The Parish of Adare recognises the dignity and rights of all children and is committed to ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Above all the parish recognises the need to protect children and young people in a way that promotes their human dignity, integrity and irreducible worth as children of God.

The Parish of Adare undertakes to do all in its power to create a safe environment for children, young people and adults to ensure their protection from neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, by following the policy guidelines in place within the Parish of Adare.

The parish recognises that all involved in working with children and young people have a special duty of care towards them and has committed itself to engaging in a process to work towards putting procedures in place through which the care is put into effect.

The detailed Code of Practice & Behaviour is available from the Parish Office on request.
